Job summary

act digital in Lisbon seeks a Senior DevOps and Elastic Observability Engineer to design, evolve and support monitoring across mainframe, open systems and container environments. You will implement the Elastic Stack and drive observability across platforms to ensure reliability and performance.

The role requires 5-10 years in IT with hands-on Elastic Stack, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD tools. You will mentor teams, establish standards, and lead incident response.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years IT experience with observability focus.
• Hands-on Elastic Stack: Elasticsearch, Kibana, Logstash, Beats or Elastic Agents.
• Knowledge of logs, metrics, traces, OpenTelemetry, dashboards and alerting.
• Experience with Linux and Windows fundamentals and CI/CD tools (Git, Jenkins, Bitbucket, UCD, Ansible).
• Docker, Kubernetes, REST APIs, security controls and access management.
• Strong incident management and cross-team coordination.
• Elasticsearch certification and Azure knowledge are an advantage.

• Improve platform performance, indexing efficiency, log retention, data lifecycle and secure access.
• Establish monitoring standards and CI/CD integration with development, architecture and operations teams.
• Coach teams on observability adoption and contribute to roadmaps and platform improvements.
• Lead production troubleshooting, incident response, release execution and root-cause analysis.

Required skills and experience

• 5-10 years of IT experience with a strong focus on observability and production support.
• Hands-on experience with the Elastic Stack: Elasticsearch, Kibana, Logstash, Beats or Elastic Agents.
• Knowledge of logs, metrics, traces, OpenTelemetry, dashboards and alerting.
• Experience with Linux and Windows fundamentals, CI/CD tools such as Git, Jenkins, Bitbucket, UCD or Ansible, and automated testing.
• Docker, Kubernetes, REST APIs, security controls and access management.
• Strong incident management, stakeholder communication and cross-team coordination skills.
• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a comparable field. Elasticsearch certification and Azure knowledge are an advantage.

This full-time role is based in Lisbon, with a hybrid schedule of 2 on-site days per week.
