Accenture Portugal is hiring a junior Elasticsearch & Observability Engineer to support and deploy the Elastic Stack across multi-platform environments. The role includes routine operational tasks, health checks, basic troubleshooting, and assisting in onboarding applications to the observability platform.

You will work under guidance, with a focus on learning Elastic Stack components, basic monitoring, and incident handling while adhering to CI/CD practices and security standards.

Qualifications

• University degree in CS/Engineering or equivalent.
• 0–2 years in IT environments, logging, and monitoring.
• Basic understanding of Agile and ITIL/incident processes.
• Foundational OS knowledge (Linux/Windows) and core metrics.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining Elastic Stack components (Beats, Elastic Agents, Logstash, Elasticsearch, Kibana).
• Run predefined procedures for platform health monitoring and alert checks.
• Support onboarding of applications onto the observability platform.
• Configure basic monitoring, dashboards, log collection, and alerting.
• Participate in routine releases and incident handling under guidance.
• Follow CI/CD governance and coding standards.
• Document operational activities and ticket resolutions accurately.
• Collaborate with team and stakeholders, communicating progress.

This is a junior Elasticsearch & Observability Engineer role focused on supporting, maintaining, and assisting in the deployment of the Elasticsearch Stack and observability solutions across multi-platform environments (Mainframe, Open Systems, and Container platforms). This role operates as a structured executor within the team, performing routine operational tasks, platform health checks, basic troubleshooting, and supporting application onboarding under guidance.

What You’ll Do

• Assist in maintaining, supporting, and extending Elastic Stack components (Beats, Elastic Agents, Logstash, Elasticsearch, Kibana);
• Execute predefined procedures and runbooks for platform health monitoring, routine maintenance, and alert checks across non-production and production environments;
• Support application teams during onboarding onto the observability platform;
• Assist in configuring basic monitoring, dashboards, log collection, and alerting;
• Participate in routine release execution and incident handling under the guidance of senior team members;
• Follow established coding standards, governance, and CI/CD practices;
• Document operational activities, updates, and ticket resolutions accurately;
• Collaborate closely with team members and communicate progress clearly within the team and with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a comparable technical field (or equivalent initial experience);
• 0-2 years of hands-on experience or familiarity with IT environments, logging, and monitoring concepts;
• Basic understanding of Agile delivery principles and ITIL/incident management processes (is a plus);
• Foundational knowledge of Operating Systems: Linux and/or Windows basic commands, file systems, and core metrics (CPU, memory, storage).

What You’ll Need

• Understanding of core Observability concepts (logs, metrics, traces, golden signals) — mandatory;
• Exposure to or willingness to learn the Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch, Kibana, Logstash, Beats, Elastic Agents) and OpenTelemetry;
• Basic knowledge of version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines concepts;
• Basic understanding of Containers (Docker, Kubernetes) and APIs (REST) is a plus;
• Foundational awareness of IT Security principles (authentication, access management basics);
• Basic knowledge of collaboration and ticketing tools: Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow, MS Office.

Technical Skills
