Job summary

Decskill, an IT consulting company with over 10 years of market presence, is seeking a Data Warehouse Engineer for a Lisbon-based project with a hybrid work model (3 days in the office). The role focuses on enterprise Data Warehouse solutions, ETL pipelines, and data governance within an AI-aware environment.

Candidates must have 5+ years in DWH architecture and automation, plus strong SQL Server skills. The team operates across Lisbon, Porto, and Madrid, offering long-term career opportunities

Qualifications

• Academic background in Engineering or similar (Software, Electronics, Physics, Mathematics, etc.).
• At least 5+ years of relevant professional experience in Data Warehouse architecture and automation (Microsoft SQL Server, SSIS, T-SQL).
• Proven skills in Data Warehouse design, development, and optimization using Microsoft SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, and T-SQL.
• Deep knowledge of ETL pipeline design, optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Proven skills in performance tuning, scalability, and maintainability of DWH systems.
• Experience with multiple ERP systems (SAP, Abacus, INFOR) and diverse databases (SQL Server, Oracle, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, Progress).
• Strong skills in scripting and automation (Python for data workflows, PowerShell for deployment and monitoring).
• Validate compliance with DWH standards, data governance, and architectural best practises.
• Expertise in integration of heterogeneous data sources and legacy system modernization.
• Experience in deployment automation and environment configuration (development, test, and production).
• Focus on data validation, anomaly detection, and error handling.
• Awareness of AI trends (including Agentic AI) and opportunities to enhance products, processes, and ways of working.
• Continuous learning mindset toward emerging technologies and openness to upskill in an AI-enabled environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, optimize, and maintain enterprise Data Warehouse solutions.
• Build, optimize, and troubleshoot ETL pipelines to ensure reliable data integration.
• Improve performance, scalability, and maintainability of Data Warehouse solutions.
• Integrate heterogeneous data sources and modernize legacy systems.
• Ensure compliance with Data Warehouse standards, data governance, and architectural best practices.
• Automate deployments and manage environment configurations.
• Perform data validation, anomaly detection, and error handling to ensure data quality.
• Explore AI technologies to enhance products, processes, and ways of working.
