WE ARE META is hiring a Senior Data Engineer to join our team in Portugal, focusing on building scalable data pipelines and advanced analytics. You will work with Azure Databricks, SQL, and Python to transform raw data into clean, golden datasets for the business.

Ideal candidates have 6+ years in data engineering, strong data modeling knowledge, and English fluency. This is a remote role from Portugal with EU-friendly requirements and growth opportunities.

Qualificações

• At least 6 years of professional data engineering experience.
• Expert-level proficiency in SQL and SQL-like languages.
• Deep expertise in Python and organizing Python projects.
• Extensive experience with Azure Databricks (mandatory).
• Experience building data pipelines from raw to golden layer (ETL/ELT).
• Experience with Azure Cloud services and data modeling methods.

What we’re looking for:

• At least 6 years of relevant professional experience as a Data Engineer
• Expert-level proficiency in SQL and SQL-like query languages
• Deep expertise in Python, including experience organizing Python-based projects
• Vast experience with Azure Databricks (mandatory)
• Experience building data pipelines and working with ETL and ELT processes (raw to golden layer)
• Experience with Azure Cloud and its services
• Strong understanding of different data modeling methodologies (Kimball, Inmon, Data Vault)
• Fluency in English (at least a B2 level)

Nice to Have:

• Background in Business Intelligence and Business Analysis (Plus)
• Experience with IaC tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation (Plus)
• Experience with CI/CD automation using GitLab (Plus)

Important:

This position is following a remote regime, from Portugal. Candidates should be based in Portugal and have a Portuguese or other EU citizenship, or a valid Portuguese work permit to be considered. EU-based candidates are welcome if willing to relocate to Portugal.
