We are looking for a Senior Cybersecurity Control Officer to join an international cybersecurity program in Portugal.
The role focuses on cybersecurity governance, control, risk assessment, program coordination and operational improvement across multiple entities and regions.
The ideal candidate will have strong cybersecurity knowledge, excellent analytical skills and the ability to challenge evidence, assess risks and translate complex technical information into clear recommendations for senior stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the steering and governance of cybersecurity programs and projects.
- Monitor project delivery, milestones, risks, dependencies and action plans.
- Prepare and coordinate management committees, presentations, meeting minutes and action tracking.
- Act as a point of contact for assigned projects and business scopes.
- Collect, assess and challenge cybersecurity compliance evidence.
- Review cybersecurity requirements and support alignment with relevant stakeholders.
- Identify gaps, risks and remediation actions and follow them through to closure.
- Define and improve operational KPIs and reporting processes.
- Prepare clear executive-level reporting and synthesize complex technical information.
- Identify opportunities to automate cybersecurity program processes.
- Improve reporting, evidence collection, campaign tracking and status consolidation.
- Contribute to the modernization and continuous improvement of cybersecurity governance processes.
- Work closely with Security Operations, IT, Risk, Compliance and other cross-functional teams.
Requirements
- Minimum 7 years of professional experience in cybersecurity, IT risk, IT controls, cybersecurity governance or a related field.
- Good understanding of cybersecurity risks, domains and program management.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity regulatory requirements, standards and frameworks.
- Experience in IT controls, compliance assessments and evidence review.
- Strong ability to challenge information and assess the quality of evidence.
- Good understanding of IT processes, assets and technology solutions.
- Ability to assess risks and formulate clear, reasoned recommendations.
- Experience working with multiple stakeholders and international teams.
- Strong experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience with Power BI for dashboards and reporting.
- Knowledge of SharePoint and Power Automate is a plus.
- Exposure to AI/LLM tools and automation use cases is a plus.
