Job summary

Cox Automotive Europe in Lisbon is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable backend solutions using .NET, AWS, and event-driven architectures. You will collaborate with Tech Leads, Product Managers, and Architects to shape the software across our vehicle marketplaces and data platforms.

You will mentor teammates, contribute to engineering standards, and promote best practices while leveraging AI-assisted tools to accelerate delivery.

Qualifications

• Hands-on software engineering with .NET technologies.
• Experience building cloud-native apps on AWS.
• Strong knowledge of microservices and event-driven architecture.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, especially Terraform.
• SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience in Agile teams and CD environments.
• Practice of clean code and software engineering best practices.
• TDD/BDD experience.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure software.
• Write clean, maintainable code using modern practices.
• Collaborate with product, architecture, QA, and UX teams.
• Contribute to design discussions and continuous improvement.
• Automate tests and ensure quality through unit/integration tests.
