HumanIT Digital Consulting is seeking a hands-on Principal Backend Engineer in Lisbon. You will shape architecture for a cloud-based logistics platform, delivering scalable backend systems in C#/.NET and driving the adoption of microservices and event-driven patterns.

You will mentor engineers, improve CI/CD and observability, and work in a hybrid model from Lisbon with ownership and fast delivery culture.

Qualificações

• 8+ years of professional software development experience with strong backend in C#/.NET.
• Proven design and operation of microservices in production.
• Hands-on with event-driven architectures and messaging systems (RabbitMQ, Kafka, Azure Service Bus, SQS).
• Understanding of asynchronous systems with retries, idempotency and dead-letter queues.
• Strong SQL Server and relational DB skills.
• Knowledge of DDD, SOLID and Clean Architecture.
• Experience with cloud platforms.
• Experience with automated testing, CI/CD and observability.
• Track record mentoring engineers and influencing technical decisions.
• Experience using AI development assistants in engineering workflow.
• Excellent English communication.
• Based in Lisbon or able to commute to the Lisbon office.

Responsabilidades

• Own and influence the architecture of backend systems across order, fulfilment and delivery domains.
• Design scalable, resilient solutions with C#/.NET and microservices.
• Evolve event-driven workflows to keep orders, stock and deliveries in sync in real time.
• Define service boundaries, integration approaches and communication patterns.
• Make pragmatic architectural decisions balancing scalability, reliability and complexity.
• Establish engineering standards, patterns and best practices across teams.
• Mentor engineers through design and code reviews.
• Drive improvements in performance, observability, CI/CD and production reliability.
• Identify technical risks and opportunities early.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a hybrid Lisbon environment.
