At Cox Automotive Europe, we're transforming the way the automotive industry connects, trades, and grows. Through significant investment in technology, data, and AI, we're building the next generation of digital products that power vehicle marketplaces, data platforms, CRM solutions, and customer experiences across Europe.

The Opportunity

As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining scalable software solutions that power our business. Working closely with Tech Leads, Product Managers, Architects, QA Engineers, and fellow developers, you'll contribute to every stage of the software development lifecycle.

You'll primarily focus on backend engineering using .NET, AWS, and event-driven architectures, while collaborating across the wider technology stack when needed. This role offers the opportunity to influence technical direction, contribute to engineering standards, mentor colleagues, and help establish best practices within our growing Lisbon Technology Hub.

  • Contribute to solution design, technical discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Build quality into every release through automated unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
  • Identify and resolve performance, scalability, reliability, and security challenges.
  • Participate in CI/CD and trunk-based development practices to ensure rapid and reliable delivery.
  • Support production services using monitoring and observability tools.
  • Conduct code reviews and provide technical guidance to fellow engineers.
  • Mentor and support less experienced members of the team.
  • Leverage AI-assisted development tools and practices to accelerate delivery while maintaining high engineering standards.
  • Promote a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
