Emotion Mobility is seeking a Senior Backend Developer to join the Engineering team in Oeiras, Portugal. You will develop and maintain backend services, REST APIs, and web applications, contributing across the full software lifecycle.

You will collaborate on architecture, perform code reviews, and uphold security and quality standards while working in a Hybrid model requiring 3 days on-site each week.

Qualificações

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong commercial experience with C# and .NET.
• Experience developing and consuming REST APIs.
• Practical experience with Dependency Injection.
• Solid experience with relational databases and SQL.
• Strong understanding of Git and version control.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum teams.
• Professional fluency in English.
• Ability to work from the Oeiras office 3 days per week.
• Existing right to work in Portugal.

We are looking for a Senior Backend Developer to join the Engineering team and contribute to the development and maintenance of Emotion Mobility's web applications, APIs, and backend services.

You will work across the full software development lifecycle, from system design and implementation through testing, deployment, and ongoing support. Code quality, security, maintainability, and engineering best practices are central to the role.

You will report directly to the Engineering Director.

The role is based in Oeiras, Portugal, with a hybrid working model requiring 3 days per week in the office.

What You Will Do

• Design, develop, and maintain backend applications using C# and .NET.
• Build, integrate, and optimize RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Participate in architecture and system design discussions.
• Conduct code reviews and help maintain high engineering and security standards.
• Design and work with relational SQL databases, with a focus on integrity and performance.
• Apply modern engineering practices including Dependency Injection and clean code principles.
• Participate in the full development lifecycle: design, development, testing, deployment, and support.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and provide ongoing application support.
• Manage source code and development workflows using Git.
• Work within an Agile/Scrum environment and contribute to sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.

Must Have

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.

• Practical experience with Dependency Injection.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Playwright, particularly reviewing and validating automated tests.
• Experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and SOLID principles.
• Experience with ORM frameworks such as Entity Framework or Dapper.
• Familiarity with AI technologies and AI-enabled development solutions.

Employment

This is a standard employment contract. Contractor and freelance arrangements are not available.

Relocation support and visa sponsorship are not provided.

Compensation

• Annual base salary: €58,500
• Additional boost: 5%
• Total annual employee package: €63,893.40
