Job summary

Hovione is seeking a Senior Automation professional to join the Global Automation team in Portugal. You will lead and support automation projects across the full life cycle, from planning to commissioning and qualification, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement.

The role requires a degree in Chemical/Mechanical/Automation engineering, at least 5 years in industrial automation, and strong communication skills in English.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree required with chemical manufacturing automation experience.
• Minimum 5 years in automation projects within industrial operations.
• Equipment automation design, commissioning, and qualification.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Propose and take part in annual goals, resources and budget decisions for Global Automation team.
• Report Global Automation equipment results.
• Define requirements, plan and manage new Global Automation equipment projects or changes to existing ones.
• Develop and review/approve specifications, testing templates, SOPs and IOPs.
• Collaborate with sites to share best practices and standards.
• Assist in internal/external audits and inspections.
• Follow HSE program and participate in PHA, FMEA and HAZOP.
• Maintain standards for control, alarms, interlocks and HMIs.
• Develop and maintain standards and explore digital innovation.
