Job summary

Team IT in Lisbon is seeking a Senior AI Solution Engineer to lead the development and deployment of AI-powered solutions. You will shape platform infrastructure, establish standards, and collaborate across engineering, data science, and business teams to translate challenges into scalable AI use cases.

You will design enterprise-grade AI systems using LLMs, RAG, and related ML technologies, mentor colleagues, and contribute to governance, documentation, and operational excellence for AI

Qualifications

• 5+ years in agile software engineering with full lifecycle
• Experience translating business problems into AI use cases and technical solutions
• Practical experience with LLMs and RAG techniques
• Working knowledge of Agentic AI systems and architectures
• Experience with cloud AI services and DevOps pipelines
• Experience building microservices with Flask, Django, or Spring

Senior AI Solution Engineer - Is that you?

Location: Lisbon (Hybrid) Experience Level: Senior Language: English (minimum B2)

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and deployment of Agentic AI solutions, ensuring scalable, high-quality implementations aligned with business objectives.
• Drive the development of AI platform infrastructure and integrations with internal systems, establishing technical standards and best practices.
• Design and implement enterprise-grade AI solutions leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and machine learning technologies.
• Collaborate with engineering, platform, data science, and business teams to translate business challenges into practical AI use cases.
• Develop and maintain scalable AI-powered services and microservices architectures.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring team members and supporting the adoption of AI technologies across the organization.
• Contribute to solution design, technical documentation, governance standards, and operational excellence for AI platforms.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of experience in agile software engineering with knowledge of the full engineering lifecycle.
• Experience translating business problems into AI use cases and technical solutions.
• Practical experience with Large Language Models (LLMs) and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) techniques.
• Working knowledge of Agentic AI systems and architectures.
• Experience with core machine learning concepts and implementations.
• Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Azure cloud platforms and AI services.
• Strong DevOps capabilities and experience supporting software delivery pipelines.
• Experience developing microservices using Flask, Django, or Spring frameworks.
• Ability to work effectively in Agile delivery teams and iterative development cycles.
• Strong collaboration skills across engineering, data science, and platform teams.
• Capability to support solution documentation, governance, and technical handover activities.
• Problem-solving mindset focused on delivering practical, scalable, and business-driven outcomes.

Nice to Have

• AI/ML engineering certifications such as Azure AI Engineer, Google Cloud ML Engineer, or AWS Machine Learning certifications.
• Generative AI certifications or specialized training programs.
• GitHub Copilot Certification.
• Practical experience using GitHub Copilot and other AI-assisted development tools.
• Experience designing enterprise AI platforms and reusable AI capabilities.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into practical business applications.
• Experience mentoring junior colleagues and supporting technical coordination activities.
