team.it is seeking a Senior AI Security Engineer to lead secure design and risk management for enterprise AI initiatives in Lisbon. You will partner with engineering, product, and security to embed security across AI use cases, platforms, and integrations.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years in IT security, strong Cloud Security, IAM, and Secure SDLC expertise, plus hands-on AWS/Azure experience. Fluent English is required.

Qualificações

• Degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience.
• 7+ years of experience in IT and cyber security, including large-scale transformation, digital, cloud, or platform initiatives.
• Strong expertise in Cloud Security, IAM, application security, and Secure SDLC practices.
• Hands-on experience securing cloud environments on AWS, Azure, or similar platforms.
• Working knowledge of AI/ML Security and Agentic AI Security, including prompt injection, data leakage, and model risks.
• Familiarity with OWASP LLM Top 10, MITRE ATLAS, and NIST AI RMF.
• Experience with Threat Modeling, security risk assessments, and architecture reviews for distributed and cloud-native systems.

AI Security Engineer - Is that you?

Location: Lisbon (Hybrid) Experience Level: Senior Language: English (minimum B2)

Key Responsibilities

• Embed security by design across AI use cases, agents, platforms, and integrations, ensuring appropriate controls for access management, secrets handling, logging, monitoring, sandboxing, and tool usage.
• Translate enterprise security policies and architecture principles into practical controls, reusable patterns, and implementation guidance for AI engineering and product teams.
• Conduct security reviews, prepare security-gate evidence, drive remediation activities, and accelerate unresolved risks, control gaps, or compliance deviations.
• Identify and mitigate AI-specific threats such as prompt injection, data leakage, insecure tool interactions, excessive permissions, and weak auditability through secure design and deployment practices.
• Support the secure onboarding and integration of external AI vendors, models, APIs, and orchestration platforms while ensuring compliance with security and data protection requirements.
• Strengthen AI incident response capabilities through detection mechanisms, logging strategies, response playbooks, tabletop exercises, and collaboration with Security Operations and central security teams.
• Promote secure AI delivery at scale by establishing best practices, reusable frameworks, and knowledge-sharing initiatives across engineering and security communities.

Required Skills & Experience

• Degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience.
• At least 7 years of experience in IT and cyber security, including work on large-scale transformation, digital, cloud, or platform initiatives.
• Strong expertise in Cloud Security, Identity and Access Management (IAM), application security, and secure software development lifecycle (Secure SDLC) practices.
• Hands-on experience securing cloud environments on AWS, Azure, or similar enterprise cloud platforms.
• Working knowledge of AI/ML Security and Agentic AI Security, including prompt injection, data leakage, model risks, agent identity, tool-use risks, and model supply chain threats.
• Familiarity with industry frameworks and standards such as OWASP LLM Top 10, MITRE ATLAS, and NIST AI RMF.
• Experience performing Threat Modeling, security risk assessments, and architecture reviews for distributed and cloud-native systems.
• Strong understanding of security architecture principles, secure integration patterns, and enterprise technology governance.
• Proven ability to work closely with engineering, product, platform, and security teams to influence secure design decisions without direct hierarchical authority.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage both technical and executive audiences.
• Pragmatic, delivery-oriented mindset with the ability to operate effectively in fast-paced and evolving environments.
• Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken.

Nice to Have

• Experience securing Generative AI, large language model (LLM), and multi-agent systems in production environments.
• Knowledge of data privacy and compliance frameworks such as GDPR, ISO 27001, NIS2, and related regulatory requirements.
• Experience with security operations, SIEM solutions, incident response, and SOC collaboration.
• Hands-on expertise with container and platform security technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud-native security tooling.
• Knowledge of DevSecOps practices, infrastructure as code security, and automated security testing pipelines.
• Experience evaluating third-party vendors, AI services, and technology providers from a security and risk perspective.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+, Azure Security Engineer Associate, or AWS Security Specialty.
• Fluency in an additional European language.
