Job summary

GRiT is seeking an experienced engineer in Porto, Portugal, to join our AI-focused team. You will work on developing content applications, microservices, and scalable software using Scala and Play Framework, with strong emphasis on Elasticsearch and PostgreSQL.

Knowledge of AI methods, RESTful APIs, and cloud platforms is highly valued. The role requires 3–5 years of experience and a relevant degree, with Python being a plus.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of engineering experience and a degree in computer science, artificial intelligence, mathematics, or related fields.
• Proficiency in Scala, including the Scala Play Framework, is essential.
• Advanced experience with Elasticsearch and familiarity with PostgreSQL or other relational databases are required.
• Experience in developing content applications and managing microservices is expected.
• Knowledge of AI methods like natural language processing, deep neural networks, and their mathematical foundations is preferred.
• Experience with RESTful and asynchronous APIs, Docker, Azure, GCP, and AWS is essential.
• Proficiency in Python (OOP) is preferred, along with the ability to write clean, production-ready code.
• Creative and dynamic, with the ability to work independently and transparently with colleagues.
• Strong team player, able to collaborate with both colleagues and external partners.
• Good problem-solving skills, both individually and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scalable software applications and microservices.
• Collaborate with team members and external partners to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Implement RESTful and asynchronous APIs and ensure production-ready code.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and write clean, well-tested code.
