Decskill is seeking a Securities Settlements Officer to join our international operations from Lisbon, Porto or Madrid. You will manage settlement of securities transactions, perform pre- and post-settlement activities, and conduct cash and position reconciliations with internal systems and local custodians.

You will leverage Python, VBA and Power BI to automate processes, reduce manual tasks, and improve efficiency.

Qualificações

• Experience in Securities Settlement, Operations, Custody or Clearing.
• Understanding of securities settlement processes including pre- and post-settlement activities.
• Experience with cash and position reconciliation.
• Knowledge of securities-related transactions and events.
• Experience with referential/reference data.
• Data automation and process optimisation experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.

We are searching for a Securities Settlements Officer!

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and ensure the settlement of securities transactions and associated products.
• Perform pre- and post-settlement activities, ensuring transactions are processed accurately and within the required deadlines.
• Perform cash and position reconciliations between internal systems and local custodians.
• Investigate and follow up on reconciliation breaks, discrepancies and exceptions.
• Ensure that referential data is accurate and up to date, working closely with the relevant teams.
• Respond to emails, queries and operational requests accurately and within the expected deadlines.
• Support clearing and custody-related activities within the scope of securities settlement operations.
• Maintain and manage relevant legal and transaction‑related documentation.
• Support transaction and event‑related accounting processes for securities within scope.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and streamline workflows.
• Develop and implement automated solutions to reduce manual tasks and improve processes.
• Collaborate with internal teams and relevant stakeholders to ensure smooth and efficient settlement operations.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives through data analysis and process optimisation.

Requirements:

• Previous professional experience in Securities Settlement, Securities Operations, Custody, Clearing or a similar financial operations environment.
• Good understanding of securities settlement processes, including pre- and post-settlement activities.
• Experience with cash and position reconciliation.
• Knowledge of securities‑related transactions and events.
• Experience working with referential/reference data.
• Experience with data automation and process optimisation.
• Knowledge of Python, VBA and/or Power BI is highly valued.
• Ability to identify manual processes and develop solutions to improve efficiency and workflow automation.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet operational deadlines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
