ALTEN Portugal is seeking an Air Traffic Control Systems Engineer to join the Aeronautics division. You will define requirements, drive verification and validation, and develop test procedures for critical ATC systems, ensuring regulatory compliance.

Collaboration across multidisciplinary teams is essential for this role. The ideal candidate will have a degree in aerospace or related engineering, experience in documentation, and familiarity with MATLAB and Linux environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define, analyze, and manage requirements for critical air traffic control systems, ensuring full traceability and compliance throughout the development lifecycle.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, functional specifications, validation plans, and other client‑requested deliverables.
• Participate in Verification and Validation (V&V) activities for hardware and software systems.
• Develop, execute, and document functional and integration test procedures.
• Validate Human‑Machine Interfaces (HMI), ensuring correct functionality of screens, controls, and operational workflows.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure adherence to technical and regulatory requirements in the aeronautical sector.
• Support the implementation and continuous improvement of test automation processes.
• Analyze test results and prepare detailed technical reports.
• Use requirements management tools such as Polarion or IBM DOORS to ensure documentation consistency.
• Provide support in Linux environments for test execution and system validation.

Required Skills:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience in systems engineering, validation, and verification of complex systems.
• Solid knowledge of requirements management tools such as Polarion, IBM DOORS, or equivalents.
• Experience preparing technical documentation and system specifications.
• Experience defining and executing test procedures, preferably in critical or regulated environments.
• Knowledge of electronic and software system validation.
• Familiarity with MATLAB for signal, frequency, or performance analysis.
• Basic knowledge of Linux.
• Experience with HMI systems.
• Knowledge of aeronautical industry standards and regulations.
• Experience in test automation is an advantage.
• Previous experience in aeronautics, defense, air traffic control systems, or military environments is highly valued.
• Availability for national and international travel.
