ALTEN Portugal, líder em IT, Engenharia e Ciências da Vida, procura um Senior Mechanical Engineer para supervisionar atividades de construção, coordenar empreiteiros e stakeholders do projeto, gerindo prazos, budget e garantindo conformidade com normas de segurança, qualidade e regulamentação.

O(a) candidato(a) ideal tem formação em Engenharia Mecânica e experiência prática em gestão de projetos de construção industrial, com inglês fluente para ambiente internacional.

Qualificações

• Bacharelado ou Mestrado em Engenharia Mecânica ou área relacionada.
• Experiência comprovada em gestão de construção, de preferência em projetos industriais ou de engenharia.
• Experiência prática coordenando empreiteiros e atividades de site, assegurando alinhamento com o alcance do projeto, prazos e padrões de qualidade.

Responsabilidades

• Gestão de procurement e cadeia de suprimentos: supervisão da aquisição de materiais de construção, assegurando entrega atempada.
• Gestão de fornecedores: manter relações com fornecedores para termos favoráveis e cadeia de fornecimento confiável.
• Coordenação de projeto: facilitar a comunicação entre arquitetos e demais envolvidos para alinhamento de requisitos.
• Gestão de prazos: monitorizar prazos de vários projetos e sincronizar entregas com cronogramas de construção.
• Controlo de qualidade: assegurar conformidade com especificações e standards regulamentares.
• Inspeções: realizar ou supervisionar inspeções dos produtos para verificação de conformidade.
• Orçamento e controlo de custos: gerir o orçamento de aquisição de produtos e analisar custos para redução de despesas.
• Conformidade e regulamentação: assegurar conformidade com códigos locais, normas ambientais e outras normas relevantes.
• Comunicação e reporting: manter stakeholders informados sobre status, potenciais atrasos e alterações.
• Conhecimento técnico: interpretar plantas e especificações para garantir adequação das peças às necessidades do projeto.
• Ferramentas de gestão de projeto e de inventário: acompanhar entregas e níveis de stock.

As a

Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will play a critical role in

overseeing construction activities, coordinating contractors and project stakeholders, managing project timelines and budgets, supervising site execution, and ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards throughout the project lifecycle .

Key Responsibilities Procurement and Supply Chain Management Material Procurement: Oversee the acquisition of construction materials, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with project specifications. Supplier Management: Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to negotiate favorable terms and ensure reliable supply chains.

Project Coordination Team Coordination: Facilitate communication and collaboration between all parties involved architects, to ensure alignment in product requirements. Timeline Management: Monitor several projects timelines and synchronize product deliveries with construction schedules to avoid delays

Quality Control Quality Assurance: Ensure that all products meet specified quality standards and regulatory requirements. Inspections: Conduct or oversee inspections of products to verify compliance with project specifications.

Budgeting and Cost Control Financial Management: Manage the budget allocated for product procurement, ensuring cost‑effective purchasing decisions. Cost Analysis: Analyze and report on product costs to identify areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.

Compliance and Regulations Regulatory Adherence: Ensure that all products comply with local building codes, environmental regulations, and other relevant standards. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of product specifications, delivery schedules, and compliance certifications.

Communication and Reporting Stakeholder Communication: Keep all stakeholders informed about product statuses, potential delays, and changes in plans. Reporting: Prepare and present reports and presentations to update higher‑ups or clients on product management progress.

Technical Understanding Specification Knowledge: Understand construction blueprints and specifications to ensure that ordered products match project requirements. Technical Collaboration: Work closely with technical teams to integrate product information into project models and ensure compatibility.

Software Proficiency Project Management Tools: Utilize project management software to track deliveries and monitor project progress. Inventory Systems: Use inventory management systems to monitor stock levels and optimize ordering processes.

Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering

or a related engineering field. Proven experience in construction management, ideally in industrial or engineering projects. Hands‑on experience coordinating contractors and site activities, ensuring alignment with project scope, timelines, and quality standards. Strong knowledge of construction processes, including planning, execution, and site supervision. Experience managing project schedules, budgets, and resources

in complex engineering environments. Solid understanding of health, safety, and regulatory requirements

applicable to construction sites. Full professional proficiency in English, with strong verbal and written communication skills for an international environment. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with attention to technical details and project documentation. Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams

and collaborate with engineering, project management, and site stakeholders.
