Job summary

PRAGMASOFT - a Wirtek company, based in Porto, seeks a TechOps engineer to manage and integrate critical OT systems that monitor and control the grid. You will oversee SCADA databases, GIS records, and ensure data integrity across platforms while driving performance and reliability.

You will work in a high-stakes environment with rigorous processes, using Portuguese fluently and technical English, and benefit from ongoing training within an international technology group.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of SCADA systems (essential) including data modeling, points, alarms and network topology.
• Experience with backup, recovery and performance monitoring processes.
• Experience managing relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server or PostgreSQL) and strong SQL skills.
• Knowledge of GIS systems and electrical network modeling.
• Ability to work in critical environments with a high degree of rigor and responsibility.
• Fluent Portuguese; technical English.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain the SCADA databases, keeping operations-critical data reliable and performing well.
• Manage and maintain the GIS records of the grid’s physical assets and network model.
• Keep data consistent between SCADA and GIS records; fix discrepancies.
• Run and improve backup, recovery and disaster recovery processes.
• Optimize performance of databases and integration processes.
• Document procedures, changes and operational best practices.
