Overview

The Muñoz RG conducts both fundamental and application-oriented research on materials and devices for energy storage and conversion. We are looking for a qualified Research Scientist to join our team and work under the project HEADsupercap

Job Duties

The job duties will be the following:

Perform the R&D activities as planned in the EU project HEDAsupercap for development of asymmetric hybrid supercapacitors;
Collaborate with other academic and industry partners within the consortium on joint R&D;
Report to supervisor on R&D and team progress;
Project reporting;
Publish project results and communicating the results in project/professional meetings;
Engage in other project dissemination activities;
Keep a safe laboratory environment.

Mandatory Qualifications

Education

PhD in Electrochemistry, Materials Chemistry, Materials Science and Engineering, Nanotechnology, or other related field.

Experience and Technical Skills

Profound knowledge on materials development for energy storage;
Relevant experience with supercapacitors;
Extensive knowledge of capacitor chemistry and electrochemical performance assessment;
Experience with implementing safety protocols;
Experience supervising other researchers.

Other Valued Skills

Experience in European project management;
Capacity to execute research plans with strict timeline and deadlines;
Data management and observation of dissemination protocols;
Experience with materials scale-up.

Personal Skills

Supervision of other team members and teamwork;
Problem-solving abilities;
Ability to propose and develop new project ideas;
“Hands-on” approach together with a high commitment in respecting working deadlines.
