Work plan:
The candidates will perform the following plan:
The successful candidate will join the TOMAR project, whose objective is the development of a muon tomography telescope based on Resistive Plate Chambers (RPCs) incorporating an innovative readout architecture with a significantly reduced number of electronic channels. The project aims to demonstrate the feasibility of a high-performance, cost-effective muon imaging instrument capable of operating in realistic environments, with potential applications in both scientific and industrial contexts.
The work will focus primarily on the design, implementation, integration, and validation of the electronic and data acquisition systems of the TOMAR telescope. The successful candidate will participate in the specification and testing of electronic components, the development and integration of data acquisition systems, the characterization of system performance, and the support of installation, commissioning, and operation campaigns of the prototype. The activities may also include the development of monitoring and data analysis tools required for the validation of the detection system.
