Job summary

Körber Supply Chain is seeking a PLC Software Architect to join our Automation Engineering team. You will develop PLC software for intralogistics systems, lead standardization efforts, and own software solutions while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

You will document solutions, train colleagues, and contribute to best practices; travel up to 20% to support global projects. This role requires hands-on PLC experience and a structured, collaborative mindset.

Qualifications

Degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or an equivalent qualification; or a technical apprenticeship with additional training.
At least 3 years of hands-on PLC Architecture experience in intralogistics, warehouse automation, storage/retrieval machines, and conveyors.
Strong expertise with Siemens TIA Portal, ideally with Integrated Safety concepts.
Experience with industrial drive technology (SEW) and networks PROFINET, PROFIBUS, CAN, IO-Link.
Willingness to travel locally or internationally (≈20% of time).

Responsibilities

Develop PLC software independently and collaboratively for intralogistics and material handling systems.
Contribute to the development, harmonization, and standardization of automation software platforms.
Take technical ownership of software solutions and support engineering standards and best practices.
Create technical documentation, training materials, and knowledge-sharing content.
Collaborate with software, electrical engineering, project management, service, and product teams to deliver sustainable automation solutions.
Support project teams in identifying and implementing optimal technical solutions and act as a trusted contact for customers and internal stakeholders.
