Job summary

Aqua Expeditions is hiring a Global Training, Development & Retention Specialist based in Lisboa, Portugal. This role translates People & Culture standards into hands-on learning and career development actions across operations, collaborating with frontline staff and leaders to close capability gaps and build internal talent pipelines.

You will diagnose needs, design practical training, deliver on-the-job learning, coach staff, and support onboarding and succession planning while maintaining

Qualifications

• University degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Human Resources, Psychology, Organizational Development, Education or a related field.
• 3-5 years of relevant professional experience in Training, Learning & Development, Talent Development, operational coaching or a related field.
• Experience in luxury hospitality, cruise, travel or premium service operations is strongly preferred.
• Ability to work remotely, while maintaining excellent communication and alignment with global teams across different time zones.
• Fluency in English and Spanish is a plus, proficiency in French is appreciated.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose organizational capability gaps and develop practical learning solutions.
• Design, adapt and deliver training aligned with service standards, SOPs and business priorities.
• Provide hands-on training across operations and support onboarding and induction processes.
• Coach crew members and leaders to strengthen performance and people development.
• Build development plans, identify high-potential employees and support succession planning.
• Coordinate external training providers and maintain training records and dashboards.
