Job summary

Aqua Expeditions, based in Lisboa, Portugal, is seeking a Global Training, Development & Retention Specialist. The role executes the Global Training & Development strategy across operations, turning People & Culture standards into practical learning and career development actions.

You will identify development needs, deliver hands-on learning, and strengthen leadership capabilities to build a strong internal talent pipeline.

Qualifications

• University degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, HR, Psychology, Organizational Development, Education or related field.
• 3–5 years in Training, Learning & Development, Talent Development or operational coaching.
• Experience in luxury hospitality, cruise, travel or premium service operations preferred.
• Ability to work remotely with global teams across different time zones.
• Fluency in English; Spanish a plus; French appreciated.
• This role is an Independent Contractor Agreement.

Responsibilities

• Translate People & Culture standards into practical learning, capability-building and career development actions.
• Identify development needs and deliver hands-on learning across operations.
• Strengthen leadership capabilities and build sustainable internal talent pipelines.
• Coach crew members, supervisors and leaders to improve performance and people development.
• Develop structured development plans linking training, coaching, stretch assignments and internal mobility.
• Coordinate external training providers when required with quality, relevance and cost discipline.
• Follow up after training to verify behavioral application and operational improvement.
• Maintain records, dashboards covering training delivered, participation and outcomes.
