Job summary

Jobgether, on behalf of a partner company, seeks a Data Scientist (Time Series Forecasting) based in Portugal. You will build forecasting models for weather, energy prices, and grid demand to support data-driven trading decisions in a fully remote environment.

You will translate forecasting algorithms into production-ready code, collaborate with distributed teams, and apply agentic coding tools to accelerate development. Strong Python/SQL skills and English communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Mathematics, Econometrics, Physics, Engineering, or another quantitative discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in data science, forecasting or related field.
• Strong Python and SQL proficiency; Go is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and refine forecasting models for weather, energy prices and grid demand.
• Translate models into robust production-ready code powering a live trading platform.
• Analyze datasets, identify patterns and improve forecasting accuracy.
• Incorporate AI-assisted coding tools into daily development workflows.
• Work with data pipelines and production environments to ensure reliability.
• Communicate findings and collaborate with distributed teams.
