Job summary

INESC TEC is inviting applications for a 1 Researcher position in Computer Science, focusing on the development and application of AI, machine learning, and statistical methods for time-series forecasting in the electricity sector. Ideal candidates hold a Master’s degree and have Python programming skills, machine learning knowledge, and fluency in English.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required in a relevant field (applied mathematics, physics, CS, electrical/computer engineering or informatics or similar).
• Basic knowledge of machine learning.
• Programming skills in Python and experience with ML methods.

Responsibilities

• Develop and apply AI algorithms for energy sector use cases (forecasting renewable generation, demand, and market prices).
• Develop and evaluate forecasting models, including uncertainty quantification.
• Automate forecasting processes from data prep to model updating and monitoring.
