Job summary

EDP is hiring a Market Modeling Specialist in Lisbon, Portugal. You will develop and validate short-term electricity load and surplus forecasts, improve models, and support regulatory reporting with data from systems.

You should have 3-8 years in forecasting, strong Python, SQL, Power BI skills, and familiarity with cloud platforms and energy markets. Collaboration across teams is essential.

Responsibilities

• Generate and validate short-term (day-ahead/intraday) forecasts for electricity load and surplus generation across geographies.
• Monitor forecast deviations, analyze root causes, and propose cost-benefit improvement measures.
• Maintain and develop forecasting models to reduce forecast deviations, including recalibration and exogenous variables.
• Extract, process, and provide data from systems for business monitoring and regulatory reporting datasets.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of operational processes, including automation and standardization.
• Collaborate with other areas to develop shared processes, procedures, and methodologies.

Our Forecast & Modeling team intends to recruit a Market Modeling Specialist.

What you will do:

• Generate and validate short-term (day-ahead/intraday) forecasts for electricity load and surplus generation (post self-consumption) across all relevant geographies
• Monitor forecast deviations, analyze root causes, and propose cost-benefit improvement measures.
• Maintain and develop forecasting models to reduce forecast deviations, including recalibration and integration of exogenous variables.
• Extract, process, and provide relevant information from data systems/sources to support business monitoring and prepare datasets for regulatory reporting.
• Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of operational processes, including automation, standardization, and control enhancements.
• Actively collaborate with other areas of the organization in the development of shared processes/procedures/methodologies.
