EPAM Systems, Inc. in Portugal offers a backend engineer role focused on A2A integration. You will build the Agent Gateway for an Enterprise Agent Development Platform, enabling scalable agent-to-agent interactions and cloud-native orchestration. Expect emphasis on async patterns, JSON-RPC, REST, and observability across distributed services.

You will design schemas, implement endpoints, and collaborate with platform teams to ensure performance, security, and reliability in a remote setting.

Qualificações

• 3+ years of backend engineering experience.
• Proficient in Python or Go and API design.
• Experience with REST APIs and asynchronous/event-driven patterns (SSE, webhooks).
• Understanding of microservice communication and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with task lifecycle handling and JSON-based endpoints.
• Knowledge of OpenTelemetry for distributed tracing.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and maintain A2A Gateway components for agent discovery and interaction.
• Implement Agent Card JSON schema and agent.json endpoints for identity and config publishing.
• Design and integrate A2A invocation patterns (JSON-RPC 2.0) and event-driven messaging.
• Build high-performance Python APIs using async frameworks and SDKs.
• Ensure secure REST and streaming (SSE) communication between agents.
• Promote observability, tracing, and debugging across inter-agent workflows.
