Olisipo is seeking an experienced Radio Network Architect to lead the design and planning of 2G-5G networks, including microwave backhaul. The role involves coordinating with suppliers, preparing RFPs, and evaluating tenders to ensure optimal network performance.

The candidate should have extensive RAN and MW expertise, strong communication skills, and willingness to travel internationally on a 2-3 weeks on-site pattern with a return to Portugal.

Qualificações

• Proven experience in architecture, planning and modernisation of 2G/3G/4G/5G radio networks.
• Experience in multi-vendor projects, including RFP processes and vendor swaps with leading RAN suppliers.
• BoQ preparation and tender evaluation experience.

Profile:

• Over 10 years of experience in the architecture, planning and modernisation of 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G radio networks, as well as microwave backhaul;
• Proven experience in multi-vendor projects, including RFP processes and vendor swaps with leading RAN suppliers;
• Solid experience in network sizing, drawing up Bills of Quantities (BoQs) and the technical evaluation of tenders;
• In-depth knowledge of RAN and microwave network architecture and planning;
• Ability to analyse, evaluate and make decisions in complex technical contexts;
• English mandatory;
• Knowledge of Portuguese (an advantage);
• Knowledge of French would be an asset;
• Experience in Africa or emerging markets would be considered an advantage;
• Willingness to undertake extended international travel, on a pattern of 2-3 weeks on site + 1 week back in Portugal;
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with technical teams, suppliers and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Develop the target design for the radio network, taking into account coverage, capacity and spectrum strategy;
• Define the architecture of the microwave (MW) backhaul network;
• Prepare and maintain the radio/MW components of RFP processes, including technical specifications, BoQs and roll-out assumptions;
• Manage technical clarification sessions with suppliers;
• Technically analyse and compare the tenders received;
• Prepare technical evaluations, scoring and input for award recommendations;
• Collaborate with the Procurement teams and architects from other technology areas;
• Identify, assess and communicate risks relating to the design and implementation timetables;
• Support supplier selection processes and multi-vendor projects.
