Job summary

Blue Fox is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead quality activities on a client site in Portugal for an 18-month contract. The role focuses on implementing and managing the Quality Management System across the project, ensuring compliance with standards and client requirements.

The ideal candidate will have proven QA-QC leadership on major projects, strong knowledge of QMS and industry standards, and experience coordinating with contractors, suppliers and multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a Quality Manager / QA-QC Manager role.
• Strong experience on major projects with client-facing exposure.
• Excellent knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and industry standards.
• Experience managing contractors, suppliers and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Independent and able to represent quality interests with the client.
• Hands-on, proactive approach with attention to detail.
• Qualifying certifications such as ISO 9001 Lead Auditor or CQI/IRCA are advantageous.

Responsibilities

Quality Manager - Client Site | Portugal

Contract: 18 Months

We are currently seeking an experienced Quality Manager to join our team on an exciting 18-month contract, based primarily at our client's site in Portugal.

This is an excellent opportunity for a quality professional with strong project experience to take responsibility for quality management, ensuring that the highest standards are maintained throughout project delivery.

The Role

As Quality Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing quality activities on the client site, working closely with the client, project teams, suppliers and contractors to ensure compliance with project, contractual and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading the implementation and management of the project Quality Management System.
• Ensuring compliance with applicable standards, specifications and client requirements.
• Developing and maintaining project quality plans, procedures and inspection processes.
• Managing quality inspections, audits, NCRs and corrective/preventive actions.
• Working closely with engineering, construction, commissioning and project management teams.
• Liaising directly with the client and key stakeholders on quality matters.
• Monitoring contractor and supplier quality performance.
• Reviewing quality documentation, inspection records and test results.
• Driving continuous improvement and a strong quality culture across the project.
• Reporting on quality performance and providing regular updates to project leadership.

About You

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:

• Proven experience in a Quality Manager / QA-QC Manager role.
• Strong experience working on major projects, ideally in a client-facing environment.
• Excellent knowledge of Quality Management Systems and relevant industry standards.
• Experience managing contractors, suppliers and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• The ability to work independently and confidently represent quality interests with the client.
• A proactive, hands-on approach with strong attention to detail.
• Relevant quality qualifications such as ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, CQI/IRCA, or equivalent would be advantageous.
