Job summary

Extia, a leading engineering consultancy, is seeking an experienced QA Automation Engineer to own automated testing of backend and middleware applications. You will design and execute automated scripts, collaborate with Business Analysts, and drive end-to-end QA processes across the software delivery lifecycle.

You will use Python, work in Linux environments, and apply AI tools to optimize testing workflows and improve coverage.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in quality assurance, software testing, and test automation.
• Hands-on testing of backend and middleware applications.
• Proficiency in test automation tools and Python scripting.
• Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle and release validation.
• Experience partnering with Business Analysts to validate requirements and risk.
• Good knowledge of Linux OS and command-line tools.
• Ability to troubleshoot issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Familiarity with AI tools to enhance testing processes.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks.
• Test backend and middleware systems for functionality and data flows.
• Translate requirements into test plans, cases, and scenarios.
• Lead end-to-end QA lifecycle from analysis to release readiness.
• Perform regression and integration testing to protect existing functionality.
• Document, track, and investigate defects with root cause analysis.
• Validate post-deployment behavior and support post-release testing.
• Use Python to automate repetitive testing tasks and improve efficiency.
• Work in Linux environments, using command-line tools for issue investigation.
• Leverage AI tools to create or enhance test cases and testing workflows.
