Job summary

Metro AG is seeking a Pricing Specialist to cover maternity leave for its Makro operations in Portugal. You will report to the Pricing Manager and drive pricing processes, analyse scenarios, and provide actionable insights to boost sales and margins in collaboration with the Offer department.

The role requires a strong analytical mindset, advanced Excel (VBA) skills, and experience with BI tools like Power BI or MicroStrategy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.
• Ability to work independently and adapt to changing business priorities.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Software: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Access and Excel (VBA). Knowledge of SQL, Power BI, MicroStrategy, or other BI tools will be considered an advantage.
• Availability for a fixed-term contract of uncertain duration (maternity leave cover).

Responsibilities

• Incorporate insights into the pricing management system that support the category and sales channel strategy.
• Analyse pricing scenarios, generate and update reports in order to interpret results and present key findings and recommendations.
• Drive change management initiatives, namely the implementation of new pricing and promotion management processes and systems.
• Share specialised knowledge with the Offer and Store teams regarding price perception management.
• Produce ad hoc analyses and related initiatives that add value to the company's Pricing strategy.
