We are looking for a Senior Power BI Developer to join a technology team supporting the banking and financial services sector. This opportunity focuses on enterprise reporting, advanced data modeling, SQL-based data extraction and Power BI performance optimization in a hybrid setup based in Porto.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Design, build and maintain enterprise Power BI dashboards, reports and semantic models aligned with business and analytical requirements.
• Develop and optimize complex SQL queries to extract, transform and structure data from multiple source systems.
• Build query logic for historical data analysis using dynamic date parameters, time-based filters and customized data retrieval patterns.
• Integrate dynamic parameters into custom SQL queries within Power BI to improve data load efficiency and reporting flexibility.
• Create, optimize and maintain DAX measures, including time intelligence, filter context logic and nested calculations.
• Troubleshoot report performance, refresh duration, data model efficiency and SQL execution issues.
• Support technical quality through code reviews, best practices and guidance for junior and mid-level developers.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• More than 9 years of professional experience in Business Intelligence, Data Engineering or Data Analytics, with strong exposure to the Microsoft BI ecosystem.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving capability and attention to performance, reliability and data quality.
• Ability to translate complex data structures into clear insights for technical and business stakeholders.
• Experience supporting technical decisions, sharing best practices and mentoring less experienced team members.
• Professional working proficiency in English.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

• Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.
• Advanced SQL, including subqueries, CTEs, joins, unions, aggregations and query optimization.
• DAX for foundational and advanced calculations, including time intelligence and filter context manipulation.
• Power BI data modeling, semantic models and dashboard development.
• Dynamic SQL parameters and historical data extraction logic.
• Gateway configuration, row-level security and workspace administration.
• Performance tuning for reports, data refresh processes and database queries.

NICE TO HAVE

• Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate or equivalent certification.
• Professional working proficiency in French.
• Experience in banking, financial services or regulated environments.
