Job summary

Randstad Digital Portugal is seeking a P&L Controller to produce and validate daily and monthly Economical P&L and related explains. You will work with Front Office, Back Office, Market Risk, Finance and IT to ensure accurate, timely reporting.

The role sits in Product Control, supporting ALM/T and Global Market Trading Desks across Europe, New York, Singapore or Hong Kong, helping drive integrated business requirements and ethical standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (3–5 years) in Economics, Finance, or Accounting is strictly required.
• Strong analytical skills for financial markets and P&L analysis.
• Ability to collaborate with Front Office and support functions.
• Ethical and professional conduct in finance teams.

Responsibilities

• Produce and validate official Economical P&L figures and related explains.
• Investigate discrepancies with Front OfficePredict when available.
• Review P&L Explain and correct misallocations when needed.
• Analyze risk-based market P&L and differences to Explain; document gaps.
• Produce hedge accounting controls where applicable.
• Submit P&L for sign-off to Front Office.
• Challenge and improve existing processes when possible.

The Profit and Loss (P&L) Controller will be in charge of producing and validating the daily and/or monthly Economical P&L and related P&L Explains. It will be required to establish effective working relationships with both Front Office and other areas of support (e.g. Back Office, Market Risk, Finance & IT).

This will allow for an integrated and proactive approach to the business requirements. P&L teams, as part of the Product Control department, provides a full and dedicated support to the various ALM/T and Global Market Trading Desks located in Europe, New York, Singapore or Hong-Kong.

Responsibilities:

• Produce and validate the official Economical P&L figures and the related P&L explains (market move, new deals, etc) and investigate the discrepancies with the Front Office Predict when available.


• Review the P&L Explain in depth and correct wrong effect if no technical solution can be found to overturnthe misallocation.


• Review the Risk based market P&L and analyse differences against the P&L Explain until the gap isunderstood and documented. Review the split of the economic PNL in liquidity and rate effects for ALMT perimeters.


• Produce Hedge accounting controls for finance and FO where applicable.


• Submit the P&L for Sign-off to the Front office officer.


• When possible, challenge and enhance existing processes.


• Ensure high levels of ethics and professionalism are maintained both personally and in the team. Buildand maintain internal relationships based on trust, respect and professionalism.
