Job summary

Taleo Consulting is seeking a Junior P&L Controller to join the Product Control department of a leading international banking group in Lisbon. The role involves supporting ALM/Treasury and Global Markets trading desks across Europe, New York, Singapore and Hong Kong.

You will collaborate with Front Office, Back Office, Market Risk, Finance and IT to ensure accurate P&L reporting and provide essential financial analysis to support business decisions.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and a rigorous approach to work.
• Interest in financial markets and banking activities.
• Proficiency in English.

Responsibilities

• Produce and validate daily and monthly economic P&L figures and P&L explanations.
• Investigate discrepancies and analyse market movements, new transactions and risk-related impacts.
• Review and explain differences between economic P&L and risk-based P&L.
• Support liquidity and interest rate effect analysis for ALM/Treasury activities.
• Perform hedge accounting controls where applicable.
• Coordinate P&L sign-off with the Front Office.
• Identify opportunities to improve existing processes and controls.
