Job summary

Mollie is seeking a Platform Engineer in Observability to strengthen monitoring and data pipelines across services. You will build and maintain observability tools, collaborate with engineering teams to embed best practices, and help create a scalable, transparent platform for a growing fintech ecosystem.

Qualifications

• Background in software engineering with a focus on observability and monitoring.
• Experience with at least one major cloud provider.
• Experience with Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, and Sentry; Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, Terraform.
• Proficiency with Linux shell.
• Experience developing or adopting libraries for observability integrations.
• Strong coding skills in PHP, Java, Python, or Go.
• Strong problem-solving and creative approaches to challenges.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills; comfortable in a hybrid work environment.
• Bonus: Data Analytics and Data Pipelines related to observability.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain observability tools and platforms for scalable monitoring.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to embed observability into the development lifecycle.
• Lead the creation and adoption of standardized observability frameworks across the org.
• Design and implement data pipelines to collect, aggregate, and normalize telemetry data.
• Advocate for best practices in code instrumentation for high-quality data.
• Contribute to a comprehensive service inventory to guide operational decisions.
• Share knowledge and promote a culture of innovation in observability.
