Revolut is seeking a Platform Engineer to contribute to core backend systems that power our fintech platform. You will work on the event store, transactional infrastructure, and scale high-throughput services used across the company.

You’ll collaborate with multiple engineering teams, review designs, and help shape software that affects millions of users. We value strong communication, distributed systems experience, and fluency in English in a fast-paced, diverse environment.

Qualificações

• 7+ years of backend engineering experience
• Bachelor’s degree in CS, maths, physics, or similar
• Production fluency in Java and readiness to work primarily in Java
• Experience building core systems or foundational platforms
• Distributed systems experience at a meaningful scale
• The ability to work well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Fluency in English

About The Role

Our Technology team builds the systems and experiences that keep Revolut moving. The Platform Engineer will contribute to core backend systems, from the event store to the underlying transactional infrastructure. Whatever you ship at this layer affects the whole company, so a small improvement can save a lot of time for the team later.

What You'll Be Doing

• Building and scaling our core systems
• Writing high-throughput, concurrent code at production scale
• Working on problems that affect multiple teams across Engineering
• Reviewing code and helping other engineers with system design

What You'll Need

• 7+ years of backend engineering experience
• A bachelor’s degree in computer science, maths, physics, or similar field
• Production fluency in Java, or expertise in another backend language (Kotlin, Scala, Python, Go etc.) and readiness to work primarily in Java
• A track record of building core systems or foundational platforms that other engineers built on top of
• Distributed systems experience at a meaningful scale
• The ability to work well as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Fluency in English

Nice to Have

• A background in fintech or other high-volume transactional environment
• Experience in a startup or scale‑up
• Event sourcing in production
• Open‑source contributions to frameworks, libraries, or developer tooling
