Job summary

Amadeus is seeking a Platform Engineer to join our global DevOps team in Lisbon. The role combines on-premises infrastructure management with cloud capabilities (AWS/Azure/GCP) to design, deploy, and operate robust systems.

You will build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automate provisioning, and ensure security and reliability across hybrid environments. The ideal candidate has strong scripting skills, IaC experience (Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi), and hands-on virtualization and networking

Qualifications

• Proven DevOps experience with emphasis on on-prem infrastructure.
• Strong networking knowledge (firewalls, VPNs, DNS).
• Experience with virtualization (VMware/Hyper‑V).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and IaC.
• Proficiency in scripting (Bash, Python, PowerShell).

• Design, deploy, and manage on-premises infrastructure including servers and networking.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for on-prem and cloud apps.
• Automate processes with dev/ops teams to improve reliability.

Platform Engineer

Summary of the roleWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior DevOps Engineer with deep expertise in on-premises infrastructure and networking, complemented by hands‑on experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP). Who combines deep technical expertise with strong interpersonal and organizational skills. This role requires someone who is autonomous, proactive, and solution‑oriented, yet always aligned with the team’s goals and the manager’s vision. The ideal candidate will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust DevOps practices across on‑prem and cloud environments, ensuring high availability, security, and scalability of our systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage on-premises infrastructure, including servers, storage, virtualization, and networking.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for both on-prem and cloud-based applications.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to automate processes and improve system reliability.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues across environments.
• Ensure compliance with security policies and best practices in infrastructure and deployment.
• Maintain documentation for infrastructure, processes, and configurations.

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience in DevOps roles with a strong focus on on-premises infrastructure.
• Solid understanding of networking concepts (firewalls, routing, VPNs, DNS, etc.).
• Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper‑V).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and basic cloud services.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., Bash, Python, PowerShell).
• Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
• Knowledge of monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios).
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently.
• Experience in developing infrastructure provisioning tools and scripts to automate deployment and configuration.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi.
• Ability to create reusable modules and templates for consistent infrastructure provisioning.
