Job summary

Amadeus is seeking a Platform Engineer to join a senior DevOps team in Lisbon. You will design, deploy, and maintain robust infrastructure spanning on-premises data centers and cloud platforms, ensuring high availability, security, and scalability.

The role emphasizes automation, CI/CD, and IaC across hybrid environments. The ideal candidate brings deep DevOps expertise with hands-on virtualization, networking, and scripting skills, plus experience with monitoring and configuration-management

Qualifications

• Proven experience in DevOps roles with a strong focus on on-premises infrastructure.
• Solid understanding of networking concepts (firewalls, routing, VPNs, DNS).
• Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and basic cloud services.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation (Bash, Python, PowerShell).
• Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
• Knowledge of monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios).
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
• Experience in developing infrastructure provisioning tools and scripts to automate deployment and configuration.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi.

Summary of the role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior DevOps Engineer with deep expertise in on-premises infrastructure and networking , complemented by hands‑on experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP). Who combines deep technical expertise with strong interpersonal and organizational skills. This role requires someone who is autonomous, proactive, and solution-oriented , yet always aligned with the team’s goals and the manager’s vision. The ideal candidate will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust DevOps practices across on-prem and cloud environments, ensuring high availability, security, and scalability of our systems.

Key Responsibilities
