Claranet limited in Lisbon is seeking a Platform Automation Engineer to join our internal team. You will automate cloud infrastructure, improve platform reliability and operational efficiency, and design scalable solutions using Terraform, Kubernetes, and other cloud-native technologies.

The role emphasizes advanced Terraform patterns, GCP exposure, and collaboration with DevOps, software developers, and security teams to deliver robust cloud platforms across our services.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 2+ years in Platform Engineering and 3+ years with underlying technologies.
• Professional experience with cloud platforms and infrastructure automation tools.
• Strong knowledge of Terraform, including advanced provisioning patterns.
• Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration.
• HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate or higher.
• GCP experience strongly preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Contribute to architecture and development of cloud platform solutions aligned with business requirements.
• Design and implement automation using Terraform and Crossplane v2.
• Implement and manage infrastructure patterns for scalability, regulatory compliance, disaster recovery and secure operations.
• Develop and optimize advanced Infrastructure as Code patterns, including Terraform modules, workspaces and state management.
• Collaborate with software developers, DevOps engineers and other stakeholders to integrate and optimize cloud solutions.
• Support observability practices, including anomaly detection and automated remediation.
• Monitor platform performance, identify bottlenecks and recommend improvements.
• Maintain accurate documentation covering architecture, processes and procedures.
• Mentor junior engineers.

In this role, youwill contribute to the automation of cloud infrastructure and services, helpingimprove platform reliability, performance and operational efficiency. We arelooking for someone with strong experience in Terraform, Kubernetes, cloud-nativetechnologies and infrastructure automation, including advanced Terraformpatterns.

Experience withGoogle Cloud Platform (GCP) is strongly preferred.

Your responsibilities include:

• Contribute to the architecture and development of cloud platformsolutions aligned with business requirements;
  
• Design and implement automation using technologies such asTerraform and Crossplane v2;
  
• Implement and manage infrastructure patterns that support: Scalabilityand high availability; Regulatory compliance; Disaster recovery and resilience;Consistent and secure operations;
  
• Develop and optimise advanced Infrastructure as Code patterns,including Terraform modules, workspaces and state management; Collaborate withsoftware developers, DevOps engineers and other stakeholders to integrate andoptimise cloud solutions;
  
• Support the implementation of observability practices, includinganomaly detection and automated remediation;
  
• Monitor platform performance, identify bottlenecks and recommendimprovements;
  
• Maintain accurate documentation covering architecture, processesand procedures;
  
• Support and mentor junior engineers while learning from moreexperienced team members.
  

You must have:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, ComputerEngineering or a related field — or equivalent professional experience;
  
• At least 2 years of experience in Platform Engineering and 3 yearsof experience working with the underlying technologies;
  
• Professional experience with cloud platforms and infrastructureautomation tools;
  
• Strong knowledge of Terraform, including advanced infrastructureprovisioning patterns;
  
• Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration;
  
• HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate certification or higher;
  
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is strongly preferred.
  

We value:

• Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform: GoogleCloud Platform (GCP), AWS or Microsoft Azure;
  
• Strong practical experience with GCP services, architecture andinfrastructure automation is a significant advantage;
  
• Experience withCrossplane, Terraform and Infrastructure as Code;
  
• Knowledge ofGitOps practices and patterns;
  
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash orPowerShell;
  
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Azure DevOps orGitHub;
  
• Knowledge ofobservability, monitoring and cloud operations automation;
  
• Ability to work with complex, distributed and cloud-nativeenvironments.
