We are looking for a senior Physical AI Field Delivery Engineer (FDE) to join an innovative technology project in Portugal.

This is a 100% remote role based in Portugal, aimed at professionals with a strong technical background in Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Edge AI, and Robotics who are interested in bringing artificial intelligence into real-world industrial and operational environments.

You will work alongside engineering teams, solution architects, customers, and business stakeholders to design and deploy intelligent solutions connecting physical systems with digital technologies. The role spans solution design, Proofs of Concept, production deployment, and operational optimisation, transforming data from cameras, sensors, and autonomous systems into actionable insights and practical improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement Physical AI solutions for industrial and operational environments.
• Build and optimise Computer Vision applications, including object detection, tracking, automated inspection, anomaly detection, and video analytics.
• Deploy and optimise Machine Learning models on Edge AI platforms for reliable real-time performance.
• Work with NVIDIA Jetson, TensorRT, and ONNX to support efficient AI inference and deployment.
• Contribute to robotic and autonomous solutions integrating perception, navigation, and sensor-based decision-making.
• Integrate data from cameras, LiDAR, industrial sensors, and telemetry systems into intelligent applications.
• Support the development of Edge-to-Cloud architectures connecting industrial devices with enterprise platforms.
• Participate in the design and implementation of AI-powered monitoring, robotic inspection, and autonomous systems.
• Work with technical teams and customers to understand operational challenges and translate requirements into practical AI solutions.
• Contribute to technical workshops, solution design, Proofs of Concept, and production deployments.
• Monitor and troubleshoot deployed AI applications, improving performance, scalability, and operational reliability.
• Support the integration of AI technologies with existing industrial automation and control systems.
• Produce technical documentation and communicate solution capabilities and results to technical and business stakeholders.
• Keep up to date with developments across Physical AI, Robotics, Computer Vision, and Industrial IoT.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• 5+ years of relevant professional experience, including experience developing and deploying AI-powered applications in real-world environments.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of Computer Vision, including OpenCV, object detection, and video analytics.
• Experience with Machine Learning frameworks, particularly PyTorch and/or TensorFlow.
• Practical experience with Edge AI and Embedded Machine Learning.
• Experience with NVIDIA Jetson, TensorRT, and ONNX for AI inference and deployment.
• Good programming skills in Python and C++.
• Knowledge of robotics frameworks, particularly ROS/ROS2.
• Understanding of robotics concepts including SLAM, localisation, and autonomous navigation.
• Experience integrating cameras, LiDAR, sensors, and telemetry data into intelligent systems.
• Understanding of Edge-to-Cloud architectures and real-time data processing.
• Familiarity with industrial communication and automation technologies such as PLC, SCADA, OPC-UA, and MQTT.
• Knowledge of simulation and Digital Twin technologies, including NVIDIA Omniverse or Isaac Sim.
• Ability to analyse technical requirements and troubleshoot complex systems.
• Experience delivering engineering solutions throughout the solution lifecycle, from design and PoCs through production deployment.
• Experience collaborating directly with customers and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Strong problem-solving skills, autonomy, and a hands-on approach to technical challenges.
• Ability to communicate complex technical solutions effectively to different stakeholders.
• Fluent English, written and spoken.

Qualifications

• Academic background in Computer Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
