Job summary

FEUP – Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto invites applications for an entry-level PhD researcher in Civil Engineering. The successful candidate will work on ground-borne vibration modelling under the Rail4EARTH2 project.

The role may include occasional teaching and collaboration across project tasks, within a fixed-term contract of the duration required by the project, located at FEUP in Porto.

Qualifications

• General admission: PhD in Civil Engineering (or related) awarded no more than 5 years ago; recognised by Portuguese higher education institution if from abroad.
• Consolidated experience in soil dynamics, modelling, AI techniques, and related numerical tools.

Responsibilities

• Ground-borne vibration modelling and mitigation (Subtask 4.1.2).
• Practical assessment of WP4 results for exposed people.
• Potential teaching/training activities in the research area.
