Job summary

Leonteq is seeking an experienced OTC Confirmation & Clearing Analyst to join our Portugal team in Lisbon. You will draft and review OTC derivatives confirmations across structured and vanilla products, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.

In this role you will reconcile trades, handle discrepancies, and support clearing operations while collaborating with internal teams and external counterparties to drive efficiency and automation in a fast-paced financial markets environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant experience in OTC derivatives confirmations.
• Strong knowledge of OTC derivatives products and confirmation processes across multiple asset classes.
• Solid understanding of ISDA Definitions.
• Familiarity with electronic trade confirmations and cleared OTC transactions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills in a high-pressure environment.

Responsibilities

• Draft OTC derivatives confirmations across multiple asset classes, including structured and vanilla products.
• Review confirmations across asset classes for accuracy against executed terms.
• Conduct reconciliation of confirmations with trade management system records.
• Investigate, resolve, and follow up on trade mismatches and confirmations.
• Ensure timely affirmation and confirmation of FX, Equity, Interest Rate and Credit OTC transactions on electronic platforms.

About the role

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented OTC Confirmation & Clearing Analyst to join our team in Portugal. In this role, you will be responsible for the timely and accurate confirmation of OTC derivatives across multiple asset classes, as well as the monitoring and processing of cleared OTC transactions.

You will work closely with internal stakeholders and external counterparties to ensure trade confirmations accurately reflect executed transactions and resolve discrepancies efficiently. You will also contribute to process improvement and automation initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and scalability.

This role is ideal for a proactive professional with strong OTC derivatives knowledge, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced financial markets environment.

What you'll do

• Confirmation Drafting: Prepare OTC derivatives confirmations across multiple asset classes, covering both structured and vanilla products.
• Confirmation Review: Review OTC derivatives confirmations across multiple asset classes, covering both structured and vanilla products.
• Confirmation Reconciliation: Ensure that the OTC derivatives confirmations accurately reflect the executed trade terms recorded in the trade management system.
• Discrepancy Management: Investigate, resolve and follow up on trade mismatches, confirmation discrepancies and outstanding confirmations, escalating issues promptly to the relevant stakeholders.
• Electronic Trade Confirmation: Ensure the timely affirmation and confirmation of FX, Equity, Interest Rate and Credit OTC transactions on electronic platforms.
• Clearing Operations: Monitor and process cleared OTC transactions, ensuring accurate trade booking and timely processing.
• Client and Counterparty Service: Proactively manage client and counterparty queries.
• Risk & Control: Timely resolution of confirmation breaks to minimize operational and financial risks.
• Process Improvement & Automation: Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, improve operational efficiency, and contribute to OTC derivatives confirmations automation.

What you'll need

• At least 3 years of relevant experience in OTC derivatives confirmations.
• Strong knowledge of OTC derivatives products and confirmation processes across multiple asset classes.
• Sound understanding of ISDA Definitions.
• Familiarity with electronic trade confirmations and cleared OTC transactions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
