Job summary

EDP is seeking an Operation & Maintenance Specialist for the Tejo Mondego Direction/Alqueva Unit to plan, coordinate, execute, and monitor EDPP's projects. The role involves leading a multidisciplinary team and overseeing electrical and mechanical maintenance across the unit.

Requirements include a Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, 3–8 years of experience, and strong English language proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop Alqueva’s Unit team with electrical and mechanical expertise.
• Manage the operations of the power plants ensuring equipment availability in compliance with safety policies.
• Define and monitor facility performance to anticipate issues and drive efficiency.
• Responsible for reliability and performance indicators of installations.
• Coordinate diagnostic processes to identify root causes of technical problems.
• Interface with Hydropower Optimization Management and external suppliers.
• Plan and manage preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance actions.
• Define investment needs, maintenance services, and spare parts for multi-year budgets.

Our team is recruiting an Operation & Maintenance Specialist for Tejo Mondego Direction/ Alqueva Unit - that will be responsible to plan, coordinate, execute, and monitor the implementation of EDPP's.

What you will do:

• Lead and develop Alqueva’s Unit team, with expertise in electrical and mechanical areas.
• Manage the operations of the power plants, ensuring equipment availability in strict compliance with safety, health, environmental, and industrial risk procedures.
• Define and ensure monitoring of facility performance variables to anticipate potential issues and efficiency gains.
• Responsible for reliability and performance indicators of the installations.
• Coordinate and/or execute diagnostic processes to identify the root cause of technical problems.
• Ensure interface with the Hydropower Optimization Management team and external specialized suppliers.
• Define, schedule, coordinate, and manage the execution of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance actions.
• Define the investment needs, maintenance services, and spare parts for the multi-year budget and scheduled maintenance plan.
• Be accountable for OPEX and CAPEX budget.
• Coordinate the activities of external suppliers - including contracts and service providers - with those of EDPP teams.

What we are looking for:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
• Professional experience between 3 to 8 years, including functional team coordination and compliance with safety, health, environment, and quality policies.
• Experience in planning and managing project execution or maintenance activities.
• Proficiency in the English language.
