Job summary

EDP is seeking an Operation & Maintenance Specialist for Tejo Mondego Direction/Alqueva Unit in Portugal. You will plan, coordinate, execute, and monitor maintenance and operations for EDPP's facilities, leading a multidisciplinary team and ensuring safety, reliability and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
• 3–8 years of professional experience including team coordination.
• Experience in planning and managing project execution or maintenance activities.
• Fluency in English.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop Alqueva’s Unit team, with expertise in electrical and mechanical areas.
• Manage the operations of the power plants, ensuring equipment availability in safety, health, environmental, and industrial risk procedures.
• Define and monitor facility performance variables to anticipate potential issues and efficiency gains.
• Responsible for reliability and performance indicators of the installations.
• Coordinate and/or execute diagnostic processes to identify the root cause of technical problems.
• Ensure interface with the Hydropower Optimization Management team and external specialized suppliers.
• Define, schedule, coordinate, and manage the execution of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance actions.
• Define the investment needs, maintenance services, and spare parts for the multi-year budget and scheduled maintenance plan.
• Be accountable for OPEX and CAPEX budget.
• Coordinate the activities of external suppliers - including contracts and service providers - with those of EDPP teams.
