Mercor is seeking an Odia Transcription Expert for a fully remote role. You will faithfully transcribe document content in Odia, annotate page structure, and ensure precise reading order and region typing across complex layouts.

The role requires native Odia fluency, meticulous transcription accuracy, and experience with diverse document formats. Remote work flexibility is offered for this project located in Caparica, Portugal.

Qualifications

• Native Odiya speaker with full command of script, diacritics and conjunct forms.
• High attention to character-level accuracy and orthography.

Responsibilities

• Open and verify that a page is in Odiya and ready for annotation.
• Annotate structure by bounding regions and assigning type and reading order.
• Record relationships between regions and their parent figures or tables.
• Transcribe faithfully in Odiya, including handwritten content, noting illegible areas.
• Capture page metadata: language, type, source, dimensions, and flags.
• Participate in peer review of work to ensure quality on first pass.
