Mercor is seeking an Odiya annotation specialist to annotate and transcribe pages with exact script fidelity. You will identify and bound all meaningful regions in Odiya, ensure correct reading order, and document page metadata for high-quality data products.

The role emphasizes meticulous transcription, adherence to script orthography, and rigorous review by a second Odiya expert to maintain dataset integrity across multi-page documents.

Qualifications

• Native Odiya speaker with full script mastery.
• Experience with documents annotation, transcription, or localization.

Responsabilités

• Open and check a task to ensure page is in Odiya, legible, and contains real content without personal details.
• Annotate structure by bounding every meaningful region and assign component type and reading order.
• Record relationships by linking regions to the figure or table they belong to through a parent identifier.
• Transcribe faithfully in Odiya script, including handwritten content; flag unreadable regions.
• Capture page metadata: language, document type, source, dimensions, and flags for tables, formulas and handwriting.
• Review a colleague's work as part of a two-expert quality workflow.
