Role Overview
Elenjical Solutions is looking for an experienced internal Murex Subject Matter Expert (SME) and mentor to support the growth and development of junior analysts across EMEA. This non-client-facing, remote role will be pivotal in ensuring team members have the knowledge, guidance, and resources to succeed in Murex. The selected SME will collaborate with a network of other experienced SMEs within the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Mentorship and Development: Guide junior team members on technical and functional challenges, fostering a learning environment that encourages growth of Murex knowledge.
- Help Desk Support: Respond to queries from junior analysts, providing troubleshooting support and solutions to complex challenges while empowering them to improve problem‑solving skills.
- Training Content Creation and Delivery: Develop comprehensive training materials, design courses, and conduct sessions to upskill analysts in specific Murex functionalities and capital markets processes.
- Knowledge Documentation: Identify and document existing knowledge gaps; build and maintain a knowledge base of Murex content tailored to analysts across asset classes.
- Subject Matter Expertise: Offer expert guidance on Front Office and Market Risk streams, demonstrating advanced knowledge across multiple asset classes and providing best‑practice insights for configuration, troubleshooting, and performance optimisation.
- Cross‑functional Collaboration: Work with project leads and stakeholders to align training with client expectations and project requirements.
- Effective Communication: Deliver information in a clear, structured manner suitable for junior team members, managing time effectively across mentoring, help desk, and content creation activities.
- Context Switching and Multi‑Tasking: Smoothly switch between responsibilities, balancing mentorship, help desk queries, and content development.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 6+ years of hands‑on experience with Murex, particularly in Front Office and Market Risk, across multiple asset classes (Fixed Income, Equities, FX, Commodities).
- Proficiency in static data set‑up, curves, structuring, simulations, live book, RBPL, e‑trade pad configuration, pre‑trade development, P&L attribution, reporting, and Market Risk configuration (stress testing, VAR, Taylor, FRTB, SIMM).
- Expertise in simulation/live book views, functional requirement gathering, and functional support for Front Office and Middle Office end‑users.
Educational Background and Certifications
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Sciences, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Financial Risk Management, or Financial Engineering.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., FRM, CFA, CQF, PRM) are advantageous.
Consulting and Mentoring Skills
- Strong solution design and implementation skills tailored to internal training needs.
- Ability to mentor and coach junior team members, focusing on clear communication, knowledge transfer, and adaptation to different learning needs.
Communication and Interpersonal Skills
- High proficiency in English (C2 level), with strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills to work collaboratively and empathetically with junior analysts and team members.
Time Zone Compatibility
- Available to work within European and South African time zones to align with team needs and support.
