Job summary

Winthrop Technologies Ltd is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team for a site-based role in Lisbon, Portugal. The engineer will oversee technical project delivery, review tender documentation, select plant and materials, produce submittals, and coordinate services across disciplines.

The role requires lifecycle involvement from design through procurement to commissioning, with responsibilities including client communications, risk assessments, and ensuring safety criteria are met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in a mechanical and electrical contracting environment is essential.
• Design management experience is essential.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project.

Responsibilities

• Manage relevant client communications.
• Design management for projects.
• Coordinate work with contractors to ensure services fit together.
• Prepare method statements and risk assessments for construction activities.
• Complete HVAC deliverables within a project and safety criteria.
• Sequence installation of pipework to meet scheduled dates.
• Assist with commercial management from estimation to procurement and handover.
• Support project installation management to ensure high site standards and commissioning.
