Job summary

Globeducate International Schools in Cascais, near Lisbon, Portugal, is seeking an experienced Mathematics teacher to join IPS Cascais British International School. The role offers a permanent, full-time contract within a supportive, internationally minded environment.

Candidates should hold a maths-related degree, QTS or equivalent UK teaching qualification, and experience teaching UK KS3–KS5. You will deliver engaging lessons, use assessment for learning, and collaborate with colleagues,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or related numerate field.
• QTS or internationally recognised teaching qualification suitable for secondary education.
• Proven experience teaching Mathematics at secondary level, ideally within a British or international school environment.
• Strong understanding of UK curriculum expectations for KS3-KS4 (and preferably KS5) Mathematics.
• Ability to deliver clear, structured, and engaging lessons, ensuring accessibility for learners of mixed abilities.
• Experience using assessment for learning, progress tracking, and data-informed teaching strategies.
• Confident in teaching a range of mathematical strands, including algebra, geometry, statistics, and problem-solving.
• Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to establish a positive, supportive learning environment.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with colleagues, parents, and the wider school community.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students.

Key Responsibilities

• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, or a related numerate discipline.

Candidate Profile

• Degree in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Proficient level of English (native speaker or C2/C1 level).
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant subject, ideally English or a related field.
• A PGCE or equivalent UK teaching qualification, or a recognised Spanish teaching qualification (Master's level).
• Experience in teaching Mathematics in the British system from KS3 to KS5.
