Dellent is seeking a MariaDB Database Administrator to work on a Porto-based project with remote options. You'll manage and optimize MariaDB and ClickHouse clusters, collaborating with development teams to ensure scalable, reliable data solutions.

The role emphasizes performance tuning, data partitioning knowledge, and experience with Big Data ecosystems. Strong communication and Agile familiarity are highly valued.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Experience administering MariaDB database systems.
• Experience with Big Data systems (Hadoop/Impala/ClickHouse) is a strong plus.
• Experience diagnosing and tuning database performance.
• Knowledge of data partitioning and sharding.
• Exposure to Agile methodologies and tools (JIRA, Confluence).
• Familiarity with PHP, Python or Go is desirable.
• Excellent written and spoken communication.

Requirements:

• A BS or MS in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience;
• Proven experience administering MariaDB database systems;
• Previous experience with Big Data systems such as Hadoop, Impala or ClickHouse is a strong plus;
• Experience diagnosing, analyzing and resolving operational problems, and analyzing and fine-tuning database performance;
• Knowledge of data partitioning and sharding;
• Exposure to Agile methodologies and related management tools such as JIRA and Confluence;
• Exposure to programming languages such as PHP, Python and Go is desirable;
• Excellent written, spoken and interpersonal communication skills.
