Job summary

Innopath Consulting Lda is seeking a Stevedore Foreman in Afungi, Mozambique. You will lead stevedoring teams during vessel loading, discharge and cargo handling, coordinating personnel and equipment to meet safety and project requirements.

The role requires fluent Portuguese and English, prior supervision experience in port cargo handling, and the ability to manage on-site operations under a 75/21 rotation with day or night shifts.

Qualifications

• Fluent in Portuguese and English; able to communicate with multinational teams.
• Experience supervising stevedoring or port cargo-handling teams.
• Experience on construction projects or project cargo in a port/marine environment.
• Knowledge of rigging, lifting accessories, signalling and safe cargo handling.
• Ability to interpret cargo lists and loading/discharge plans.
• Experience delivering toolbox talks and risk assessments.
• Strong leadership and reporting skills.
• Willingness to work on site in Afungi on a 75-day on / 21-day off rotation.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily stevedoring activities and allocate duties and resources.
• Conduct pre-shift briefings and toolbox talks in Portuguese and English.
• Coordinate vessel and quayside activities with stakeholders.
• Ensure work areas are prepared and personnel are competent.
• Verify equipment and lifting accessories meet safety standards.
• Monitor cargo handling per method statements and lifting plans.
• Maintain clear communication with lifting supervisor and teams.
• Monitor weather and stop work when unsafe.
• Maintain shift records and provide clear handovers.
